Eta Kappa Nu or HKN is an Honors Society part of IEEE.  HKN is made up of high-achieving students and meets regularly with the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECEN) department. The IEEE student branch fosters a community of Electrical and Computer Engineers that HKN monitors and helps the department create a better program for students. HKN also plans major department outings that include students, this includes the ECEN Open House. We also plan a mentorship program, which pairs underclassmen with upperclassmen to mentor them through their early years and occasionally sell ECEN department merchandise. The University of Nebraska HKN chapter, Beta Psi, comprises students from both the Omaha and Lincoln campuses.
